happy birthday daniel

Today 4 short years ago Daniel joined us. I remember taking the day off from work to spend one last day with Natalie as the “only” child. At dinner that night, I realized that we were in for a trip to the hospital and quickly made THE call to grandma & papa to come up and be with Natalie. Mark remembers the fact that the red sox’s game was on in the delivery room – it’s a big deal since we don’t have cable and do not get the chance to watch many games.

Daniel is a fun easy going boy. He funny & witty. He has the best facial expression’s. He is a great cuddlier and loves to snuggle. He says I love you all the time. He loves to play baseball and hits the ball great when pitched too. he's managed to hit me a couple of times!

On Saturday we celebrated his birthday with family and friends. Daniel was so excited to have his party that he woke up early and started asking right away “is it time for the party?” next year the party will take place at 8 am!

Mark made wonderful food. The night before Daniel & Natalie helped my make a rainbow cake. I saw a picture on-line and thought “ I could do that” and it turns out that I could. The cake was wonderful! And you can’t go wrong with cream cheese frosting.

Since easter was the very next day – we colored eggs a total of 5 dozen. The eggs came out beautiful – we have a very artistic family too fancy. Surprising none of the dye spilled; no ones fingers were too dyed. Daniel did let a couple of eggs roll off the tabled but in the end no harm done.

After the eggs and lunch was cleaned up, I tried an experiment I saw on-line and have been dying to try. We made lava lamps. Honestly I wasn’t sure if it would work. Before the kids came, I took empty water bottles and filled them 2/3 with oil and then added water. The kids each picked a bottle and I added food coloring to the oil. It took a few minutes for the coloring to make it down to the water – but it eventually did. Once everyone’s water was colored – I broke apart Alka-Seltzer tables and added it to the oil/water mixture. Then magic happened. As the tablets fizzed, they brought up pieces of colored water with them – just like a lava lamp! It was so cool. Silly uncle alex – the camera was side ways!!!
