once we dug out the garage we had fun playing in the huge drifts of snow. the kids did get stuck a few times. natalie laughed it off - but being stuck really bothered daniel. he now asks if the snow is too "big" before he walks on it!
mark cleared the driveway on saturday, after the snow stopped and he got most of it done before the snow blower broke (insert sad face).
| I am so happy that snowblowing is not my job! |
BUT have no fear - with a phone call to his dad - he was able to find the problem and fix it on sunday.
the snow was so high - that the path to the compost bin looks like a luge run for the kids!
after cleaning up the rest of the snow, we meet aunt lorraine, terry & jan at the weathervane for lorraine's birthday. the kids loved going out to eat - and celebrating a birthday only adds to the excitement. daniel wanted to get a lobster as soon as he found out it was a seafood restaurant. he didn't a whole one - but did get the kids lobster meal - two claws and lots of french fries. natalie stuck with chicken tenders!
| happy birthday |
after lunch we heading down to the beach to look for clams that may have washed on shore during the storm. the beach was so beautiful and we quickly filled our bucket with clams.
a lobster trap washed ashore with a lobster inside. as we were peering into the trap looking at it - the lobster started to move. not the most legal thing to do BUT mark took out the lobster and tossed it back into the ocean in hopes that it would survive.
