halloween

we have a great house, wonderful yard, a great location except for halloween.  do not live in a "walkable" neighborhood.  which really stinks for trick or treating.  in past we have gone to grandma & papa's neighborhood - which was fun.

this year however we were invited over to our friend neighborhood with a couple other families.  it was a lot of fun.  natalie & daniel have been patiently waiting for the DAY to arrive.  it finally came and they couldn't wait. 

we made our cuatomes this year as well.  i had to talk natalie into wanting to make her own costume.  but once i said that we could use paint and markers - she LOVED the idea. 

i found the idea for daniels costume on pinterest. but natalie came up with her on her own.  the kids had fun paint, drawing and gluing.  i didn't get any picture of them making the costumes - but here are the final results.

natalie = juice box 

 

daniel = lego

it' s hard to tell but the kids hair is colored - pink and red. natalie went to school the next day with pink hair she couldn't wait to show her friends!

i need to remember for next year's costume making that they need to allow for the sprinting between houses.  part way through trick or treating - i was carrying the boxes because natalie & daniel were not able to keep up with the other kids.  so running speed is something that we'll keep in mind. 

now what are we going to do with all that candy.......
