let me just say that we are blessed to have wonderful grandparents! last weekend, mark & i were able to have a couple of nights & days without the kids to celebrate our 6 year anniversary.
it was fantastic to get away and remember why it is that we got married in the first place.
grandpa took the kids saturday night. from the stories, they went to mcdonalds, watched a movie, went on tractors rides and helped pick veggies from the garden.
sunday there was official hand off to grandma & papa. from the stories, they went to a concert, did lots of dancing, saw the planes from the near by air show, ate waffles with papa and went to see the smurfs( the kids favorite part was when the cat laughed!)
mark & i enjoyed several meals with no one spilling milk, complaining that there wasn't enough ranch dipping, asking people to stop picking their nose - you know the typical dinner conversation.
mark & i spent a day/night in portland. we went to a sea dogs games, walked around the old port, poked around the little shops & stores.
it was great to get away for a night - but it was also very nice to come home and visit with the kids!
