rules

this weekend we are being hit by snow. it has been snowing since thursday afternoon. we don't have a ton of snow but enough to make the trees look pretty and roads tough to drive. i am happy that it is snowing on the weekend since no one have to worry about driving.

mark, natalie, daniel and i celebrated in the new year with travis, shannon and wolf. mark cook a nice dinner and the kids had fun playing together. i managed to stay awake until about 10:30 had a glass of champange and then off to bed!

natalie and daniel love to shovel. it is great. twice today we dressed the kids and went outside to play. natalie likes to climb on the snow piles and jump into the snowdrifts. daniel likes to stick to the deck of driveway and push his shovel along. i don't think that he likes the snow too much since it is now over his knees and he can't walk very well.

i had to laugh tonight while getting the kids ready for the bath. everytime we take a bath i need to go over the rules of the tub. and it got me thinking about other rules of our house.

* no drinking the water from the tub
* no spitting water
* no splashing mom
* no eating the soap - this is mostly for daniel
* no drawing on daniel - we have special bath tub markers

rules for when coloring/ using scissors
* only color on paper. not on walls, carpet, doors or each other.
* do not use scissors on daniel - only on paper
* the glue stick is for paper only - not eating

general rules -
* no pulling down the gate on the stairs
* no jumping off the couch
* no climbing on the table
