yesterday i played hookie from work and went to the cumberland fair with grandma, uncle pete, leah, natalie and daniel. the kids had a blast. and we even made it past the giant pumpkins. last year the girls were too afraid of the animals - they screamed the whole time.
this year much progress was made. not only did everyone like walking through the animal barns - but we all patted the animals. the girls even feed some baby goats in the petting zoo. the only place that got a bit hairy for us was in the pig barn - one of the big pigs wasn't happy. so maybe we can look at a career as a farmer after all!
and it wouldn't be a trip to the fair without getting some french fries! that were great. daniel was enjoying a piggy-back ride from uncle pete and i bet that uncle pete still has some fries in his hair! all 3 kids as well as grandma and myself took a ride on the merry-go-round. it was super exciting. that is what was looking forward to telling her friends at school about. she was going to tell them that she rode a horse!
natalie continues to do a great job on using the potty. the other day she told me that she needed her privacy and i was to leave the bathroom!!!!
this sunday are the big races. christian is running in the maine marathon and i in a 5k - i'll see about posting christian's time and letting people know that i am still not out running the streets of lewiston!
