fall is here

the air is crisp and the days are getting shorter as we welcome fall back to maine. there are the fun things about fall that we are looking forward to doing or had fun doing. such as apple picking. we went with grandma and papa on saturday and had a wonderful time. natalie was such a great picker. she even figured out how to twist the apples off. daniel on the other hand had a better time picking up the apples from the ground. why work picking apples off of the tree when they are right on the ground! i do have pictures and will get them up as soon as possible.

we also spent some time with grannie and grandpa. grannie continues to fight to get better. the kids just loved to see her. grandpa took the kids and grannie for a ride in the tractor. they just love doing that. daniel shriek's with excitement and natalie looks forward to her job of "fixing" the tractor when it breaks down!

daniel is gaining more and more words each day. we are trying to get him to use his words and not let him just grunt at us. sunday at church, i let daniel wander the isle a bit - it is better than listening to him cry or struggling to keep him quite. at one point i saw him duck into a pew. i went to get him and was able to grab him just before he started to tickle someone's foot!!

natalie continues to be a spitfire. sometimes when she is talking to me and i can't understand her or i am not paying 100% attention to her - i'll just say "mmmmmm hhhmmm". most of the time that is good and she moves on to something else. not last week. she was trying to tell me something and i had her repeat it several times and just couldn't understand so i said "mmmmmm hhmmmmmm". well she yelled "don't just say mmmmm hhmmmm" called out by a 2 year old!

also exciting news....natalie has been accident free, wearing her big girl underwear for almost a week now. everyone said that something would just click with her and i guess it did. i have a feeling that she will be like me - and want to check out all the pottyies. saturday she even made it to the port-o-potty at the apple orchard! only having to buy one size diaper will be great. and daniel can wear the dora pull up's to bed!
