back to work

well it is back to work for me. mark and i had a nice time away on our mini-vacation, but we were both glad to be back at home and have the kids with us.

we survived a weekend of summer-time temps and humidity with the help of "our little beach" (AKA Beaver Park), sprinkler and a kiddie pool. i don't think that the heat really effected the kids all that much. they were still running all over and having fun. they both really love playing in the water.

natalie is becoming quite the swimmer. each time we go she becomes more and more brave. now if we could get her to keep her mouth shut - she winds up drinking the whole pond!!! daniel is happy splashing about and trying to eat the sand! don't have to worry about roughage in his diet! speaking of eating - daniel is a very good eater. he is willing to try just about anything and there is very little that comes back out. he likes asparagus, tuna salad, burgers, green beans - just to name a few! natalie is slowly becoming less and less picky. both the kids LOVE to eat corn on the cob.

natalie has developed a habit of calling me "honey". it is so funny. i think she picked it up from mark. but i just fall on the floor laughing when she tells me "no honey - it doesn't go there!" daniel has added car and plane to his ever growing word bank. and he also knows that a cat meows.

mark starts school next week. i think he is looking forward to getting back to work and interacting with his students.
