weekend

this past weekend was filled with fun. saturday morning, we had a playdate with amie and baby hannah. natalie was so happy to have another person to play on the swing set with. we enjoyed a picnic outside filled with pb&j, oranges and milk!

while the kids napped, i continued to work in the garden. i removed the remaining sod from the front flower beds. saturday night mark was giving daniel a bath while natalie and i were going to plant a couple more flowers. we walked over to the garden gate and out of the corner of my eye i saw something move - it was a SKUNK. now mark had been telling that he has seen a skunk in the yard - but i didn't believe him. i grabbed natalie and quietly headed back to the date. i told natalie that there was a skunk in the yard - she thought it was fun. we waited while mark tried to take a picture and the skunk walked away. after a few minutes, natalie and i went to the front yard and planted. she kept looking for the skunk to come back but thankfully it didn't!

sunday, mark brought the kids down to visit cousins anne, mike, george and ava! it was a nice visit. i hear that george had his hands full keeping daniel off of the stairs. also mark brought home hand me downs for natalie. very cool. natalie is a very well dressed kid!

after nap on sunday we all took a trip to the local greenhouse to check things out and buy bark mulch. when we got home the kids and i had a fun time spreading the mulch around. natalie likes to get dirty - she kept asking if it was okay. i think she liked cleaning her hands in the hose more.

yesterday, i brought daniel to the ENT doctor. we are scheduled to get tubes for his ears on june 2. surgery wasn't our first choice - but i think it is the best and hopefully will help end his reoccurring ear infections. keep your fingers crossed.
